A badminton scoreboard on your TV
With the ScoreboardCast app a big TV becomes the scoreboard for a badminton match. The match is run from a phone, and the TV shows the points, games won, game scores and who is serving.

What the TV shows
- Both players’ points in large numbers and the games won
- The scores of earlier games
- Who is serving
- A clear signal at game point and match point
Badminton rules built in
A game goes to 21 points with a two-point margin, up to 30 at most. A match can be set to one or two games won. The serve goes to the player who won the point, the app closes the game and the match itself, and a wrong point can be undone.
Singles and doubles
Player names or doubles pairs can go in the two fields, and that is what the TV shows. At tournaments several matches can be run one after another on the same TV.
With your club’s branding
With a Pro subscription the TV shows the club or school crest and each team’s own color and crest, and sponsor logos rotate at breaks and between games. Teams can be saved together with their rosters.
What you need
- A Google Cast-enabled TV, or any TV with an external Chromecast
- An Android phone with the free ScoreboardCast app
- Wi-Fi that both the phone and the TV are on
The TV checker tells you in two minutes whether a given TV works. In a gym the TV should sit behind a ball guard.

Frequently asked questions
Is the badminton scoreboard free?
Yes. Badminton with every rule is part of the free version. Pro adds the club crest, colors and sponsors.
What happens at 29:29?
A game goes to 30 points at most, so at 29:29 the next point wins the game, and the TV shows it as game or match point.
Who can run the match?
Anyone who uses a phone, whether a coach, an umpire or a teacher. One point is one tap, and a wrong point can be undone.
Do I need internet in the hall?
The TV needs internet when the display starts. During the game the local Wi-Fi that the phone and the TV share is enough.
Which TV do I need?
A Google Cast-enabled TV, for example one running Google TV or Android TV. For any other TV an external Chromecast or Google TV Streamer is enough.
