A gym interval timer on your TV
Tabata, EMOM, circuits or CrossFit and HYROX prep classes on a big TV, readable from anywhere in the room. The coach runs the clock from a phone, the TV shows work and rest in full-screen color and plays a sound cue at every change. Between classes the gym’s logo and partners appear on it.

What the TV shows
- The seconds left in the segment, in huge numbers
- A full-screen color for work, rest, round break and cool-down
- The cycle, the round and the next segment
- The time left in the workout and a bar that shows the whole session
- The time of day, so the start and end of the class are easy to follow
Build any interval
Preparation, work, rest, cycles, rounds, round break and cool-down, each set to the second. It works as a Tabata timer out of the box. The default is the classic Tabata, 20 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest eight times, in three rounds. For EMOM the TV signals the start of every minute, the athlete does the task, and whatever is left of the minute is the rest. Set one minute of work with no separate rest. An E3MOM or any other interval works the same way. EMOM and AMRAP are also ready-made templates, and for for-time work the timer runs as a stopwatch, in large numbers on the same TV.
Circuit training with station names
For a circuit the station names can be typed on the phone or pasted from a list. Before the start the TV shows the whole list, during work the name of the exercise, and during rest where to go next. This needs no subscription. With Pro, the workouts used most often can be saved with a name and loaded with one tap, each station can have its own time, a workout can be passed to another coach by message or QR code, and partner logos can appear in round breaks.

Sound cues from the TV
A whistle starts the work, clicks mark the last three seconds, a bell ends the work and a triple bell ends the workout. Each sound can be swapped, and the sound can be turned off. The TV plays the sounds on its own clock, so the changes stay on time even if the coach’s phone locks.
The coach stays in control
The phone shows the whole workout as a list of segments. The clock can be paused and resumed, the coach can jump forward or back between segments, and one tap adds 10 seconds to the current segment when the group needs a little more time.
Your gym’s logo and partners on the TV
With a Pro subscription, the standby screen between classes rotates the gym’s logo, partner and sponsor logos and short messages next to a large clock. A message can be the start of the next class, an offer or a competition date. The TV keeps working when there is no class on, and the partner space can bring in revenue for the gym. FunHouse in Kecskemét, Hungary, uses it this way (the gym story, in Hungarian).

Phone mirroring, LED wall timer or TV?
A gym timer can be set up in several ways. A LED wall timer stays readable in bright light and needs no network, but it only shows time and rounds. A TV shows more and stays useful between classes.
| Mirrored phone | LED wall timer | TV + ScoreboardCast | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cost | nothing extra | one-off, rises with size | free app, Pro $39.99 / year |
| Readability | small numbers in the middle of the picture | large digits, even in bright light | full-screen numbers and color |
| What it shows | the phone screen | time, rounds, segment | time, cycle, round, next segment, the whole workout |
| Logo, partners | – | – | Pro |
| Control | on the phone, which stays occupied | remote or buttons | from a phone, on time even if it locks |
| Network | needed | not needed | Wi-Fi, plus internet at startup |
What you need
- A Google Cast-enabled TV, or any TV with an external Chromecast
- An Android phone with the free ScoreboardCast app (the iPhone version is in development)
- Wi-Fi that both the phone and the TV are on
The TV checker tells you in two minutes whether a given TV works.
Frequently asked questions
Is the interval timer free?
Yes. The Tabata interval timer, circuit training and the timer are part of the free version. Pro adds the gym’s logo, partner logos and messages to the standby screen, and lets you save your own workouts.
Does it work for EMOM and AMRAP?
Yes. For EMOM set one minute of work with no separate rest and the number of cycles you need. The TV signals every minute, and whatever is left after the task is the rest. For E3MOM use three minutes. Both are also ready-made templates. For AMRAP the timer’s countdown works too, for for-time work its stopwatch.
Can the TV show the exercise names?
Yes. The circuit station names are set on the phone, and the TV shows the exercise during work and the next station during rest. This is part of the free version.
Can the cues be heard over music?
The sound comes from the TV and its volume is set on the TV. If the gym has its own sound system, the TV can be connected to it. The full-screen work and rest colors show where the workout is even without sound.
Do I need internet in the gym?
The TV needs internet when the display starts. During the session the local Wi-Fi that the phone and the TV share is enough.
Which TV do I need?
A Google Cast-enabled TV, for example one running Google TV or Android TV. For any other TV an external Chromecast or Google TV Streamer is enough.
All sports: volleyball, basketball, handball, floorball, futsal, table tennis, badminton, Cooper test timer, beep test, gym interval timer.
