A handball scoreboard on your gym TV

With the ScoreboardCast app a big TV becomes the scoreboard for a handball match. The game is run from a phone, the TV shows the goals, game clock, half and running suspensions, and at the end of a half the TV sounds the horn.

What the TV shows

Suspensions that run with the clock

A two-minute suspension is added with the player’s shirt number and runs and stops with the game clock, as the rules require. The TV shows for each team how much time each suspended player has left. The app counts suspensions per player and shows a disqualification at the third. With a saved roster the player’s name can appear too.

Game clock with a horn

The clock is started and stopped from the phone. The TV keeps time on its own clock, so the time shown stays accurate even if the phone locks. At the end of each period the TV sounds the horn by itself. A half lasts 20, 25 or 30 minutes or any other length, and a one-half game can be set too.

Goal card and club branding

On a goal a card appears on the TV for a few seconds with the team name, and with a saved roster the scorer’s number and name. With Pro the card also shows the next sponsor, and the TV shows the club and team crests and colors. At the end a text match report with the scorers can be shared.

What you need

The TV checker tells you in two minutes whether a given TV works. In a gym the TV should sit behind a ball guard.

Frequently asked questions

Is the handball scoreboard free?

Yes. Handball with the game clock, suspensions and horn is part of the free version. Pro adds the club crest, team colors, sponsors and saved teams.

How do suspensions work?

A two-minute suspension is added with the shirt number and runs with the game clock. At a player’s third suspension the TV shows the disqualification.

Who can run the game?

Anyone who uses a phone, whether a coach, a scorer or a teacher. One goal is one tap, and a wrong goal can be undone.

Do I need internet in the hall?

The TV needs internet when the display starts. During the game the local Wi-Fi that the phone and the TV share is enough.

Which TV do I need?

A Google Cast-enabled TV, for example one running Google TV or Android TV. For any other TV an external Chromecast or Google TV Streamer is enough.

All sports: volleyball, basketball, handball, floorball, futsal, table tennis, badminton, Cooper test timer, beep test, gym interval timer.

The same TV works for every sport and for PE class.
